
Formed in late 2005 as the national governing body for the field target discipline in Australia and the western Pacific region. The Field Target Association of Australasia Inc. can provide Sponsorship and Awards for Sanctioned Events and Matches.

The aim is to promote Field Target as an enjoyable outdoor target sport for all abilities and skills, suitable for any age.
Minimum licence requirements:
Australia - is a Catagory 'A'. Minors are also encouraged to become licenced from age 12.
New Zealand - no licence for air rifle is required if 18 or over. A licence is required for minors aged 16 to 18.
Any approved firearms club with range facilities can shoot Field Target matches! All that is needed is a 50m range approved for air-rifle and / or rim fire. The FTAA can supply target sets for a minimum rental or they can be purchased on a subsidised basis from the FTAA. Temporary approvals are being negotiated for Field Target events held in open / light scrub areas that are suitable for low energy small calibre airgun competitions.
