The silhouette matches are for both NRA approved matches and for the Sportsmans League matches which is for beginners and those that would like to try this game before getting into the NRA side. It is designed to introduce new shooters to the game of silhouette shooting. Bring your youngsters and teach them how to shoot. Ammo is given to every one 16 and under. And ask, someone will help you!!

The March and August matches will have a meal with it prepared by one of the members of the EASL.

The first coulple of prone matches are going to be fun matches to introduce shooters to the prone discipline. The next matches are approved and can be used to qualify for the DCM Rifle sale program for youths.

The State Championship will be held here for the prone matches in September. The date has not been set yet. It will be announced later.

Directions:

Ascension Parish Sherrif's Range

Take exit 177 off of Interstate 10 onto highway 30, turn west or toward the river on 30. Go approximately 1/3 mile and turn left on St. Landry road. Go 0.8 miles and turn left onto paved road with an iron pipe gate. Follow road down to range.

SLHP is highpower competition fired with open sights at 200 yards. 10 shots slow fire standing, 10 shots rapid fire sitting(60 seconds), 10 shots rapid fire prone (70 seconds), 20 shots slow fire from the prone position.
