The range is in excellent condition, the targets are painted flat black and are set against a green grass background. The chickens and turkeys are about level shots, the pigs are down in a hollow while the rams are naturally perched up on the hillside. There are four banks of each big bore target and 2 banks each of .22 and field pistol targets plus swingers. Targets are set by two young men on four wheelers. The firing line is covered and wired for sound and shooting tables are provided.

Norman range is one of the oldest remaining silhouette clubs in the southeast and home to many fine Georgia shooters. If you are new to I.H.M.S.A. you can get help from people that have shot in the Internationals. If you want to find out about a particular gun that you are considering someone will have one and probably in the same caliber you are considering and many of them are even willing to let you try a few rounds through it.

Local Information:

Motels: There are two motels in Lincolnton Ga., the Lincoln Motel (706)359-4311 or (706)359-4315 and the Cullers Inn (706)359-61611 both on U.S. 378 and lots of campgrounds nearby. There are also many motels in McCormick S.C. and Washington GA.  The range is 15 minutes from scenic Lake Thurman

Directions: Lincolnton is a small town just north of I-20 between Atlanta Ga. and Augusta Ga.

From Augusta Ga. take Washington Road west out of town for about 40 minutes, take the straight road even thought the highway sign may say that the highway turns off. When you enter Lincolnton and get to the intersection of US 378 turn left and go about 7 miles to C. E. Norman Rd. it is the last right before entering Wilkes County. Take a right on C. E. Norman Rd. and follow it about 1 mile until you see an automobile junkyard on the right, turn in and drive around the left side of the building and follow the main path across the pond and over the hill to the range.

From Atlanta Ga. take I-20 east to U.S. 78 exit (exit 59 I think) and go west on U.S.78 for 20 miles until you reach U.S. 378. Turn right (east) and go about 9 miles the Wilkes / Lincolnton County line, take the first left after crossing the county line onto C.E. Norman Rd. and follow it about 1 mile until you see an automobile junkyard on the right, turn in and drive around the left side of the building and follow the main path across the pond and over the hill to the range.
